2025 SHTSHW INVITATIONAL RECAP

The 2nd Annual SHTSHW Invitational 2025 was truly an epic and unforgettable day on the course!

What makes Hittin Links different, we’ve found that perfect blend of fun and competition and you truly couldn’t find more fun then the SHTSHW!  An ode to the original “Shit Show Tour” this event is the epidemy of what true fun amateur golf is all about!  There’s some good golf, some bad golf, but the vibes are ALWAYS immaculate!

Shadow Lakes saw 72 players and 18 teams square off in 18 holes of a booze filled #shtshw of a 4 man scramble followed with an awesome putting contest and an insane 5 hole alternate shot shootout to decide the championship! Drinks were flowin, music was bumpin, laughs were loud, competition was good and the vibes were absolutely unmatched.

Welcome to THE SHTSHW INVITATIONAL!! This is the premier 4 man scramble event of the year and the only scramble event hosted by the Hittin Links Golf Tour. The Hittin Links crew has an action packed day planned, where you can expect a whole lot of golf — along with music, food, drinks, games and more… this is the SHTSHW invitational after all!

Date: Saturday April 19th

Itinerary:

1. 1. 7 am – 7:15 am: Players arrive at golf course and check in at check in station. DO NOT arrive any sooner than 7am please.
      1. At the checkin you will meet the Hittin Links crew and then pickup the following from the check in table
         1. check your name off the list
         2. Grab your gift bag which will include homemade snacks, mini bottles, swag, etc…
         3. Review any/all info at the check in desk
   2. 7:15 am: Players find carts and get cart ready with clubs
   3. 7:20 – 7:40am: Players can warm up at the range and/or putting green*
      1. *NOTE: Players must take their putt in the putting contest before the round if they want to qualify for Putting Contest Finale after round.
   4. 7:50 am: Players MUST be in cart ready to be escorted to their holes for their round
   5. 8am:  Players tee off on their corresponding shotgun hole by 8am or as soon as possible after 8am.
   6. 8 – 1pm:  Players will complete their round as a 4 man scramble.  Scores MUST be entered in the unknown golf app or unknown website using QR code during round and put scores on physical scorecard as well.
   7. 1pm: Players complete round and drive back to club house where players may load bags into cars before returning carts to cart return.
   8. 1:30pm: Players will all make their way to the Hittin Links check in desk for next steps. If you finish early grab a drink/snack from the pro shop and watch the live scoring to see where you stand.
   9. 1:45pm: The SHTSHW SHOWDOWN will commence on Hole #1 and we will play Hole #1 and #2 and ALL players are encouraged to follow along the hole to watch the action.
   10. 2:15pm: The showdown completes and all players make their way back to the putting green for the putting contest finale.
   11. 2:30pm: After the putting contest finale all players should gather around the ceremony site for the trophy ceremony for all winners and take pictures.
   12. 3:30pm: All events have completed and players can take off or hang out for some drinks/eats at the golf course.

Booze/Cannabis Policy:

Now obviously, this is golf on a Weekend Round with all the homies (old and new) and we are going to have a GREAT time!  Naturally booze, smoke, music will be flowing as it should so feel free to bring whatever you like. It is the SHTSHW Invitational after all!  BUT, we all know like most courses you “aren’t” supposed to bring any outside booze, so we ask just please be discreet about it.  Package anything you bring into your bag and bring it once on the golf course. You can pickup some drinks/snacks from the golf shop and there  will be a drink cart going around all day that players can buy drinks.

Its a long day out there, so please pace yourselves.

Contest Rules:

Hole in One Contest: There are 4 total Hole in One Contest available on the course

• #4: $10,000 grand prize! YOU must film each golfer tee off to hole to verify a hole in one happened to be eligible to win the prize.  Every verified hole in one will receive the prize of $10k cash.
• #7, #11, #14, #17 will all have prize packages valued at $500.  All teammates must be present for hole in one.

Putting Contest: ALL players must take their putt in the putting contest on the putting green before the round and if made will qualify to putt for the grand prize.

• On the putting green before the first round players may attempt to make a putt. Each player gets 2 putts from the designated spot on the green. Make the putt and write your name down and comeback for the finale after the round.
• After the round players can return to the putting green for the finale.  All players will take 1 putt and last man standing wins a gift package ($150 value) and get a chance at 1 50 foot putt for $2500!!!

Long Drive Challenge

• Closest to writes their name on the card on hole.

Playing Format and Rules (ALL PLAYERS):

The number 1 rule for this event… Just DON’T BE AN ASSHOLE. We are all out here for the love of the game and to enjoy our weekend escape. This Event is made for EVERYONE and ANYONE to have fun on the course, get to know each other and get a little competition in that we may be missing, so don’t try to ruin anyone’s good time. And if you do you will be kindly asked not to return. Don’t Cheat, play fair and have fun.

FORMAT: 4Man Scramble off WHITE TEES at 8am sharp. Each team’s players hit from the teebox, then the team members choose the best of the four shots for the next shot. All team members then play the second shot from that location, and again choose the best shot. Play continues in this manner until the hole is completed. Record your score on scorecard and app.

LIVE SCORING: Always know where you stand by entering your scores on the Unknow Golf App or browser using the QR code on the scorecard.  ATLEAST one player from every group MUST enter their team scores on every hole. 

RULES: PLEASE READ…

• ALL teams MUST use at least 2 tee shots from every member of the team during the round. Track tee shots on scorecard to keep track.
• IF your team only has 3 players, then you must use a minimum of 3 tee shots from each player, but you can rotate a “4th” on each hole with each of the 3 players taking 2 shots on the hole.  So on hole #1 player 1 can hit two shots on each shot, on hole #2 player 2 can hit 2 shots on each shot and so on…
• There is NO picking up your ball unless your team reaches the Max score of Double Bogey. Someone must make the putt regardless of how close it is to the hole unless shot limit is reached. NO MULLIGANS.
• Once your team selects which shot to use for your next shot, you may place a marker (usually a tee) next to the ball where it lies and you may place all other balls within 1 club length not closer to the hole and you cannot better your lie. This means if you are in the rough, you must stay in the rough you cant move to the fairway, etc.
• KEEP PACE: Yes it’s a scramble and those are typically slow, but they don’t have to be. Please keep up with the group in front of you and keep the round to 4.5 hours.  Don’t spend more than 2 mins looking for a lost ball and be ready to hit your ball when the team is ready. Thank you.
• To be eligible to win the $10k Hole in One on #4, you MUST film each golfer in your group on this hole to prove if a hole in one was made.

CHAMPION:  To determine the champion of the event, after all teams have completed play, the top 3 teams plus ties will have an alternate shot SHOWDOWN. ALL players are welcome to follow the shootout and chirp the teams as they go for the win!  Teams will play alternate shot (ALL 4 PLAYERS) through 2 holes and the lowest total aggregate score will be crowned the champion.  If after 3 holes there is a tie we will continue sudden death on each hole until there is a winning team. The order works as follows:  Your foursome will select your Order.  So Player 1 will tee off on #1 and Player #2 tees off on 2 and players play in your order until the hole completes.  If we need more holes we will continue and player #3 will tee off and so on.  IF there is a tie for runner up we will do an up and down challenge.

ALSO: After the round we will have the Champion Shootout followed by the Putting Contest Finale on the Putting Green and then the Award Ceremony for ALL contests by the Hittin Links Tent.  Good luck to everyone.

Drinks were flowin, music was bumpin, laughs were loud, competition was good and the vibes were absolutely unmatched.
