We host 3 annual Golf Trips to amazing locations at affordable prices!

EVERYONE should be able to experience an epic golf trip to an awesome destination with the homies and here at Hittin Links, we make sure EVERYONE CAN!  We host 3 electric golf travel series each season to different destinations all over the world!  A golf trip should be affordable to all golfers, so we will not be doing any of those exclusive $5-$10k trips to overpriced resorts.  We will continue to host three 3-5 day travel events playing both hidden gems and epic bucket list courses in beautiful affordable areas.  Our trips usually cost about $1,000 and we usually go to locations to knock out one or two Golf Digest Top 100 golf courses as well as some of the other local gems they have to offer.  Players can elect to play the whole trip or only come for a couple rounds.  We work hard to find accommodations that work for everyone both on location and cost typically in the form of hotels near the golf courses and nearby the local area with restaurants/bars nearby. But please can also choose their own accommodations if wanted. These trips are a NON STOP good time and we hope you’ll be apart of the next one!

Hittin Links management will coordinate these trips from beginning to end, you just need to show up!  Players are required to pay a NON REFUNDABLE $69 deposit to secure your spot in the event and then all other costs are handled at the courses or hotels unless already noted in the trip itineraries.  The deposit is used for Event payouts, prize funds and covers operations costs. It’s critical that players that signup DO NOT bail last minute as even headcount is the most important thing for these travel ryder cups, so if you’re on the fence, please don’t signup until you’re 100% sure you can play.

FORMAT: Spring Season Ryder Cup with 2 Team total net ryder cup scoring where the team with the most overall points wins the cup.  This is Match Play format, which is the most fun format. Depending on the amount on players for each round for each team during the event, this is will be a mix of individual matches and team matches in standard stroke play and scramble format.

DEPOSIT:  Travel Series Deposits ($69) are used towards the prize fund for each event for prizes and tour credit payouts. ESTIMATE TRIP COSTS:  Hittin Links estimates the cost of this event including all golf and hotel rooms (double occupancy) to be about $600 for the trip. For travel series events only ALL players will pay for the event (besides deposit) out of pocket.  Costs and payments due breakdown for trip below:

  • Sands Inn Hotel: 3 nights at $280 + tax total per player (double occupancy): Paid at check in to hotel
  • ALL golf courses require pre-payment for group by 4/10 to a total of $345. TEAMS/DRAFT: The Official In Person draft will take place the night before the first round.  All players that arrive the night before the event starts and we will meet at the Sands Hotel meeting room at 7pm for the 7:30pm Draft start.  We will coordinate order costco pizzas for the draft for players to enjoy while drafting.  The draft is BYOB so bring your own drinks to enjoy at the draft as well. We will vote for the 2 captains for Teams (Names TBD).  Players that don’t arrive until Round 1 day will be able to join virtually via zoom. After the captains are selected a live snake draft will take place with a coin toss deciding who goes first. Teams may elect to evoke trades whenever they see fit.

DATE: 4/16 – 4/19  *Event starts on 4/17 but players are encouraged to come 1 day early if possible for practice round and draft, but that is not necessary and players can arrive on 4/17.

GUESTS: As always players are encouraged to travel with friends and/or family if they would like to for all travel events.  Also, all members are allowed to have a guests signup for event to play in the Travel series.  Or players can just come solo and link up with other members. Completely up to each players.

STAY: Current plan is to have all players to stay at a hotel in downtown San Luis Obispo.  Players may also elect to stay at their own accommodations.  Hittin Links management has booked a block of rooms in downtown SLO at Sands Inn. LOCATION: This season the Guantlet heads to Bucket List and beautiful area Coeur D’ Lane Idaho!

FORMAT: Summer Season Ryder Cup with 2 Team total net ryder cup scoring where the team with the most overall points wins the cup.  This is Match Play format, which is the most fun format. GUANTLET: This is the longest and most grueling of our Ryder Cup trips.  This event is standard 5 rounds, but we will always include an optional BONUS GUANTLET, where players can turn the trip into a full week and 9 total rounds (4 for fun).

TEAMS: The Official In Person draft will take place the night before the first round.  All players that arrive the night before the event starts and we will meet at a bar/restaurant or hotel lobby and will vote for the 2 captains for Teams (Names TBD).  Players that don’t arrive until Round 1 day will be able to join virtually via zoom.After the captains are selected a live snake draft will take place with a coin toss deciding who goes first. Teams may elect to evoke trades whenever they see fit.

DATE: 7/15 – 7/19  *Event starts on 7/16 but players are encouraged to come 1 day early if possible for practice round and draft, but that is not necessary and players can arrive on 7/16.

STAY: As always Hittin Links management will secure a good group block rate for a set a rooms at good and affordable hotel, but players can elect to book their own accommodations. Note that this time of year, this location is very popular for large scale events and family vacations so cost are higher than normal.  For the event we will need a car so players to work together to book either a large van or smaller cars rentals for the length of the trip.  We booked a set of rooms at the Coeur D’Alene Casino and Resort which is on the site of Circling Raven golf club about 30 mins away from downtown for a rate of $144 a night plus tax and includes a stay/play rate (seen below).  The Casino is beautiful with a full day spa, 4 restaurants and bars, a large casino (digital card games only due to ID law), pool and hot tubs and lots to do on property including the Circling Raven GC on site.

  • ALL golf courses require pre-payment for group by 6/30 to a total of $730.
    • Circling Raven + Reround: $210 + $115 = $325 (paid at hotel check in for stay/play)
    • Coeur D Alene: $310 (pre pay to Ryan Pendergraft at 530-906-4393)

  • WEDNESDAY 7/15:
    • Players arrive in Spokane
    • Players can play practice round in Spoke or CDA area (coordinate on discord)

LOCATION: As always, the Losers Last Chance hits one of the most epic golf locations in the world Monterey CA!

FORMAT:  Late Season Ryder Cup with 2 Team total net ryder cup scoring where the team with the most overall points wins the cup.  This is a special event based on a game that a couple of our OG members used to play back in the day.  Members Dave Batts and Brandon Parker brought to Hittin Links a fun idea of giving everyone a Losers Last Chance in golf and for us, its the last event of the year to get into the Championship.

ESTIMATE TRIP COSTS:  Hittin Links estimates the cost of this event including all golf and hotel rooms (double occupancy) to be about $650 for the trip. For travel series events only ALL players will pay for the event (besides deposit) out of pocket.  Costs and payments due breakdown for trip below:

LOSERS LAST CHANCE GAME (Optional).

As an ode to the originators of LLC, please work with your playing partners to decide if you will be playing the Losers Last Chance Game. For each round, each player in each group will put down $20 ($5 per each par 3). For each par 3, the CTP in your group wins the pot for that hole. If no one wins CTP, roll it over into the next par 3.

Handicapping

Here's how we handle net handicapping for all travel series match play events

  • For Travel Match play events the lower handicapped individual/teams will play to 0 and the higher handicapped individual/teams will play to the difference of the handicaps.
  • For individual match players play to 85% of handicap.
  • For all team matches, we initiate a 18 stroke max differential.  This means that the most strokes a player can get on the other team/individual is a max of 18 or one stroke per hole
    • For Scramble and Alt shot players play to 50% of handicap or 35% lower handicap + 15% higher handicap
    • Best ball and combined score teams play to 85% of handicap

Real Live Drafts

Here's how our Ryder Cup live drafts work...

Each one of our Travel series will have team selected by real live drafts the night before round 1.  Here’s how it works.

  1. All players that arrive the day before Round 1 will participate in the draft and those that aren’t present will be selected by captains and can participate virtually via zoom.
  2. Draft to take place at around 7-8pm at location decided by players present (most likely at hotel lobby or restaurant/bar).
  3. Draft should take a max of 2 hours to complete.
  4. Draft itinerary
    1. Captain Selection: Players present all secretly write in the 2 players they think should be captain.  If tied, vote again.
    2. Captains will then flip a tee to decide which team will draft first.
    3. Snake draft begins with Captain 1 selecting first player and then we snake until all players selected.
    4. After teams are selected, then the pairings selection begins for Day 1 with the Captain 1 sending their first selected pairings and then Captain 2 selects their first pairing.  Captains go back and forth until day 1 pairings are done.
    5. After Day 1 pairings complete, the Draft is over.
    6. After each day, captains will then select the pairings for the next round the same way they did at the draft.

As these events are live drafts, there will obviously be NO paper cards and all scoring and pairings will be found digitally on Unknown Golf.

We will encourage all players to ALL bring 2 outfits that are the same color palate. This way for 1 round we can get some great team photos with matching outfits.

Max points available per Travel event:

*Based on full field of 28 players: Estimated Total prize pot: $1000

  • Cup Champions: The winning Team will each earn 200 points and the Captain will get to take home the custom Trophy for 1 year.
  • Players on the winning team will receive a special custom medal to keep as well + $20 Tour Credits Each
  • MVP: Captain elect MVP wins trophy + 100 bonus points + $50 Tour credits
  • Cup Runner Up: Losing Team will each earn 100 points.
  • Match Winners: Players will win points/credits based on match results during the event and will vary based on # of matches:
    • Match Win: 50 points & $20 Tour Credit each
    • Match Tie: 25 points & $10 Tour Credit each
    • Match Loss: 0 points & $0 Tour credit
  • 2 CTP winners per round: 25 points and $10 credit
    • CTP holes selected by Captains

NOTE: To bring us more in line with standard net match play practices, we will be setting the playing handicaps to 85% of course handicap.
